Know that replays expire
When the replay feature is on, TikTok keeps a recording of your LIVE for you to watch back, but only for a limited period. After that it may be gone for good.
The exact window and where the option sits can change between app versions, so check the current details in the app's LIVE settings or TikTok's help centre.
Turn replays on before going live
Before your next LIVE, open the LIVE setup screen and look for the replay or LIVE recording option in the settings. Make sure it is on, because a stream that was not recorded cannot be saved afterwards.
Do a short private test if you are unsure. Go live briefly, end it and check that a replay appears where you expect.
Save the replay soon after
After the stream, find the replay in your LIVE tools or creator tools and use the save or download option if it is offered. Do it the same day while it is fresh in your mind.
If you use a separate streaming app or computer software, it may also record a local copy as you stream. That gives you a second copy that does not depend on the replay window.
Store and reuse responsibly
Name the file with the date and topic, such as 2026-10-18-live-qna-skincare, and put it in your archive with a short note of what was covered. Then include it in your normal backups.
Your replay may show guests, viewers' names or comments. Before reusing clips publicly, get permission from co-hosts and think about viewers' privacy.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save someone else's LIVE replay?
Replays are tools for the creator who hosted the LIVE. If you appeared as a guest and want a copy, ask the host to share it with you.
What if my replay has already expired?
Once it is gone it usually cannot be recovered. Turn on replays and set a reminder to save each one right after your next LIVE.
